My cousin is pregnant now with twins (first set ever in our family) and she is having a boy and girl. DH's older brothers were twins and grew up with a pretty poor relationship (maybe it's the boy-boy dynamic!). The only thing that gives me pause is how wrecked my body would get from carrying two babies at the same time. But since money will be tight for us, I would prefer one at a time. I feel like with twins I would definitely need help almost at all times which is a lot of extra expense. A boy and a girl would be ideal. Only because pregnancy itself isn't the most enjoyable experience. But thinking in more practical ways, I think it'd be much too difficult. I'm a preschool teacher and for awhile I substituted at a daycare in the infant room. I had a set of twins about 3 months old. Oh my goodness, so exausting! But then again I also had a few other babies to take care of as well.
