Ridiculously hard to find a job for immigrants! And like you said, without a permit, employers would have to first prove that no Swedes qualify, then anyone else from the EU, before even offering a foreigner the job. I don't see the value in just going somewhere for a year because honestly, you won't integrate into the community, you'll probably still have to send your kids to an international school and in the end, you'll spend a lot of money just to set up a small household. For me, I'd have to be somewhere at least 5 years to get anything out of it.</p> <p>I came to Switzerland because my husband is Swiss and I can tell you first hand, it's not the easiest place to live. Locals aren't open to "auslanders" and while there's a large English speaking expat group, it's mainly in Zurich. Once you get out of Zurich, you won't find many expats, except in Geneva.</p> <p>eta: oh and one more thing, unless you're Swiss, married to a Swiss or your company can prove that they can't find a Swiss or European person to do the job, forget about finding a job here. I was so excited when he told me but he ended up telling him about our pregnancy instead and how that wouldn't be a good idea right now for us. Then I was like ... "oh yeh." =P</p> <p>France was on the list, and Hong Kong, and France just sounds so nice! Perhaps not when we have a newborn but as a toddler that would be awesome!</p> <p>I do think it'll be hard to adjust without all the comforts of home though. Also, fantastic health system in France.
