We weren't that serious back then. We went off to separate colleges and lost contact anyway. It was pre-email, Google, etc... And had only one mutual friend I stopped talking to also. As for college, we broke up, too. I think we broke up when I was a junior. Got back together right before I graduated. I still remember the moment when I realized that I "liked him." There was a lot of drama surrounding us getting together because he had dated my friend in the past (girl code...). But after all that was over and we finally started dating, yes I knew. I know it sounds crazy, but somehow I just knew. It was serious pretty fast. We went to the same college (mainly because we both wanted to be teachers and our college had a good education school, but it was also because we wanted to be together) and broke up during sophomore year. It sucked and was hard, but eventually we ended up back together and we got married after graduation. He was just my boyfriend. He just started college and I was going to college in a year. I had no idea that our relationship would continue and survive through college.
