I didn't have pre-term labor but was on bedrest from mid November until my January due date. I passed my days by for one thing doing what @Mrs. Tiger: suggested and set little goals and two I surfed the internet a lot and did lots of crocheting. It also helped in my case that Christmas was around the corner and I could research gifts etc. And the hour long phone calls with my mom also made the days go by quicker.

Good luck and hugs I know how much it sucks :goodluck:

Oh man, I know how you're feeling. Hugs to you!!

I went through this with my last two pregnancies. I bugged everyone here, my due date boards, and went to L&D more than I should have.

I hated preterm labor for this exact reason! I only had it for 3 weeks and that was enough. Honestly, I called my doctor a lot in the days before I delivered and I think I drove them crazy...but hey, pre term labor is confusing. I was not on bed rest (not sure why!), so I stayed close to home and did things like make freezer meals and try to rest. When my husband and I could, we made sure to get me out of the house to go get something to eat or walk around Target...it kept me from being overly nutty. My doctor told me pre-term labor is what you wish on your worst enemy because it's confusing and annoying!

This brings back so many memories! I was there too last year. And I must have annoyed the heck out of other HB members with my constant triage visits and questions - "should I go in?" "what's happening to me?" "is this it?" It really does drive you crazy always being on alert and feeling cooped up, especially this time of year. For me every little thing I could do to make my surroundings nicer and keep me from ruminating helped. And in the end I was induced at 38 weeks for IUGR and high BP. By then I was so swollen I just couldn't wait!

It was torture. I was on bed rest from 28-36 weeks and told to expect LO within hours of going off bed rest. Nope, after all that, he held on until 3 days before his due date. Those last two weeks were especially hard.

Now I'm pregnant with #2 and already having contractions at almost 24 weeks and crossing all my fingers for a similar result. It's so nerve-wracking

every day LO is inside is a blessing! My case was different since I could only go a max of 34 weeks (so, 4 weeks in hospital on bed rest) but I only made it to 32. I just tried to set little goals (can we make it to September? how about 31 weeks? 32? etc). You're almost there, hang in there :)

@twodoghouse: @Mrs. Lion: I crowd sourced the HB ladies so much for each twinge that I'm pretty sure they were about to come give me a c section themselves. Lol

@Danizaur: Just knowing im not the only one helps <3

@twodoghouse: haha I think I am doing all of those things :) My older lo has been with a babysitter for the last 3 weeks while I have been on bedrest, but now that I have been taken back off he is only going in the mornings...so having him home in the afternoons helps a little! I need to spend more time focusing on why she should stay put....I spent so much time convincing myself that she would be fine if she was born early that I haven't really thought about it the other way around :)

Oh another thing I tried to do was remind myself of all the risks if they came early. I read a ton of stuff about early babies and NICU time so I could remind myself that it was really good they were still inside. Was your first LO a preemie? I think I remember that, but maybe I'm mixingn people up. But anyway, keep telling yourself that every day inside you is more chance for your baby to grow and grow! My LOs were tiny at 38 weeks so I was so grateful they stayed inside for as long as they did, so we could get away without any time in the NICU!

Oh man, I still remember that. I was on home bedrest and watched a lot of Netflix. I also texted DH and bugged other ladies on here all day long. It was pretty much constant agonizing over whether the contractions were getting regular, more painful, could this be it? I facetimed with my mom a lot too. And slept! I know you have an older LO so that's probably not a viable option, but I basically tried anything to get my mind off of the slow countdown of days. In the evenings when DH came home he's drive me to DQ or Sonic for something yummy and so I could just get out of the house. After all that, I ended up being induced at 38 weeks (for twins) and even then they just didn't want to come out. Stubborn babies!

I just want to hug you and say "I've been there". I could have written this exactly a year ago.

I didn't handle it well...but my only advice is to try not to stress over every symptom. I know it's hard! I know exactly what you feel like. But I never went into labor on my own at all in the end. Just relax and follow your instincts.

but carried until close to your due date, how did you deal with the waiting? The constant "any day now" for weeks (or months). I am having so much anxiety about every little symptom, and I'm really struggling with knowing it could be 4 more weeks like this (it's already been almost 6!) Any advice for how to deal?
