I made the mistake of doing checks and it made LO even more mad. The first few days are tough but it gets much easier!! We sleep trained at 6 months. I'd told DH that at the hour and ten minute mark if he was still crying I was going to get him. We started tonight ... she cried for 1 hour 12 minutes and is asleep now ...... but I swear I was right on the verge of caving in and "rescuing" her. (I'm not sure I'll make it if she wakes up any time soon!) </p>
