Ours had never done one - for DD2 we cut into our reveal cake and got....white icing! We had tons of family gathered and on skype and everyone was just like "huh?" I opened the envelope from the doctor, which the bakery had thankfully returned! We then set about dissecting the cake for signs of pink. Rather than coloring the icing completely they'd dusted the top of it (between the layers) with pink sprinkles. We had to hold it in 2 days at work and then the whole day on saturday while we waited for my parents to get to the beach house. </p> <p>We couldnt do anything messy or large, and i didnt want to do baked goods. I ended up buying 6 blue balloons and 6 pink balloons and poking holes with a pin in all the blue ones. She had her anatomy scan on Thursday and the reveal was on Sunday. She threw a black balloon with (pink) paint inside onto a white canvas. The only person who knew was her sister (who did the balloons/paint). It turned out really cute!! I would have gone crazy waiting though! </p>
