@runsyellowlites: gotcha!

When we have #2, he/she will be in our room for a while, depending how long we're in our 2 bedroom apt and how lo#2 is sleeping at night will decide when he/she moves into DS's room. I'd lke to wait until LO#2 is down to just 1-2 night wakings before putting him/her in LO#1s room, but I know that can take a while (and change a lot!).

@hilsy85: P will move to DHs side so I'll be more available to nurse the newbie.... P will likely still end up in the middle of us but she's pretty good at spending most of her night in her space. Idk we'll see how it goes.... I'd really love to just have both on our side but I know it's not safe to have a toddler & newbie sharing a bed.

LO 2 is on the way and we are planning on having the kids eventually share the bedroom. The baby will be in our room for the first few months, but just the bed or bassinet. DS's bedroom connects to ours, so I don't feel the need to have to set up anything special. Yet. Not sure how it will work in reality.

One thing about DS's bedroom as that it is only for sleeping. He has no toys in his room, so I don't think bedroom sharing will create a problem if DS wants to play and the baby needs to sleep.

@runsyellowlites: just curious, so does that mean the new babe will be on your DH's side of the bed? Or will P move there?

I chose keeping #2 separate, but really our los will be sharing our room. Lol We still co-sleep/co-bed with P & don't plan to stop anytime soon..... I've been thinking if getting a mini crib to add another sidecar setup on the other side of our bed.

I would keep LO #2 in my room for a little bit and then move to a separate room. I wouldn't want LO #1 waking up because of LO #2.

I'm all for keeping a newborn in your room/in bed with you at least 6 months if not longer.

I'm only buying 3 things for lo#2 and one of them is a king sized bed lol.

seems pretty obvious but added a poll!

geeeez I hope my baby is sleeping through the night by the time LO2 gets here!

@matador84: I would keep the baby in my room too, this way the newborn wont disturb the toddler when he/she wakes up at night

DS is 13 months and has just recently started sleeping all the way through the night, I wouldn't want to interrupt his sleep. LO#2 will sleep with us before being transitioned into his/her own room. Luckily, we have 4 so no sharing.

If they did have to share I'd probably wait until after sleep training #2 to do it.

I would keep LO2 in my room for a while. I'm planning on doing that even though we have a 3rd bedroom... I want them to share rooms for a while.

I'd keep the baby in my room. I think it's so much change for LO's to have a baby around, I just wouldn't want to bring on more then I need to and all of a sudden give them a roommate who's going to cry and wake them up in the middle of the night.

This is coming from someone with no experience and a very jealous toddler though.

And your options were:
1. Move LO 2 immediately into a room with a 15-16 month old as so as you came home from hospital
2. Move LO 2 into the master bedroom and set up an area with necessities and then some point down the road move kids into a shared room

Which would you do and why? We're talking a 2/2 here.
