I would think it will happen again but probably even faster.

I pushed with my first for 45 minutes. It was sooooo much faster with my second. Like the contractions did most of the work and I just pushed a few times and she was out. At the end I could feel my body pushing her out and I wasn't even pushing! It was crazy and I got scared and panicked. Lol everyone had to calm me down.

I don't want my eyeballs to hurt lol. I'm so sorry so many have had rough pushing!!

@birdofafeather: I don't think I labored down long enough, none of my epi's worked that well so I felt mass amounts of pain. Not laboring down long enough forced me to push way harder and longer than most second and third labors. It hurt to blink for the longest time!!

@MenagerieMama: @StbHisMrs: wait, why did your eyeballs hurt?!

i pushed for 45 minutes, but it felt like 5. the pushing felt like the shortest part of my labor, probably because it felt good to go with what my body was doing!

I would expect your labor to be a bit faster, hopefully you won't have the "pleasure" of experiencing pushing  I had black eyes with all three of mine because of the pushing. Worst part ever!!

@anonysquire: If you were crying a lot your body may have naturally been moving her down as you labored, and if you tried to go #2 but couldn't, you probably were pushing a bit while trying to go! It sounds like your body was kind of naturally pushing so you didn't do the traditional "guided pushing" if that makes sense? Every birth is different, so who knows for next time!

@anonysquire: She had a decent epidural going. Sometimes, you don't notice them with one. I missed a few bad ones because the drugs were good. It's possible that's what happened to her.

@anonysquire: I have a friend who didn't push her second baby out. She was on the hospital bed and heard crying. He just slipped out. Her first was a little longer labor.

I think I pushed for about an hour. My epidural was great, so pushing wasn't that bad.

@spaniellove: I have heard it is harder to push with an epidural. So that is probably what happened in my case. But then maybe you should be worried too!!

@anonysquire: It's possible your body was really effective at moving her down while you were in labor! And it sounds like it wouldn't be surprising if the next time around things could happen pretty quickly too. I'd be prepared if I were you!

I pushed for 10 minutes and hardly felt anything thanks to a great epidural, but it never occurred to me to think of what would happen a next time around.

@yellowbird: I did thank goodness! But I definitely felt a lot at the end with pushing. I was getting so exhausted they tried to have me rest every other but it was too agonizing for me to sit through one without pushing. I thought for sure they'd have to vacuum her out in the end. She just ended up being way bigger than we thought! Should have known since my husband, me, and my brother were all big babies.

@anonysquire: we're just all jealous!! Go you and your falling out babies :) much better than turning yourself inside out pushing!

I realize this post could come across as insensitive and I promise I'm not trying to sound like that!!! I honestly don't know what the heck my body or I did. I was crying in the water for like 7 hours (slight exaggeration) and then they checked and I was 9cm and I was about to get back in the tub but felt like I had to use the bathroom (#2) but couldn't so sat on a birthing stool so they could check for a head but felt pressure so I held a warm washcloth there because I didn't want to tear and then she fell out. So.... not sure if my body doesn't know how to push or what? I'm scared!!
