It was sooooo much faster with my second. Like the contractions did most of the work and I just pushed a few times and she was out. At the end I could feel my body pushing her out and I wasn't even pushing! It was crazy and I got scared and panicked. Not laboring down long enough forced me to push way harder and longer than most second and third labors. It sounds like your body was kind of naturally pushing so you didn't do the traditional "guided pushing" if that makes sense? But I definitely felt a lot at the end with pushing. I was getting so exhausted they tried to have me rest every other but it was too agonizing for me to sit through one without pushing. I honestly don't know what the heck my body or I did. I was crying in the water for like 7 hours (slight exaggeration) and then they checked and I was 9cm and I was about to get back in the tub but felt like I had to use the bathroom (#2) but couldn't so sat on a birthing stool so they could check for a head but felt pressure so I held a warm washcloth there because I didn't want to tear and then she fell out. So.... not sure if my body doesn't know how to push or what?
