Cold turkey and LO (3yo) had two overnight accidents the first two nights (or early morning as he was waking) and no more - so 3 days in total.

We did OCPT so it was cold turkey except for naps/nighttime. I would say she was 95% trained in 2-3 days. Poop took a little while longer. She would hold it for her naptime pull-up but it was sorted out in just a couple weeks.

We still had one or two accidents per week for a while, but we also potty trained on the early side (22 months). I was confident taking her out in panties pretty much after the first 3 days and we never looked back.

We did cold turkey except for night. It took a couple of months. I knew the first week or two had a fair number of accidents. It took a lot of prompting and asking to go potty every two hours especially on the weekends.

With DS #2, we're probably going to start training him at the end of the summer since he's got a late May birthday. With his big brother, we waited a couple months after his 2nd birthday to start potty training. DS #2 tries the potty at school because other kids do. Right now, it's just a fun thing for him.

We went cold turkey. He probably had about an accident or two a month for the first 3 months? It went great!

We are doing cold turkey right now except for sleep.

It's been a progress as we did a lot of random days with no diaper followed by weeks of diaper all the time due to visiting family etc. And every time my mom visited she would take his diaper off for periods of time for practise.

It's been a solid week of no diapers except sleep and we don't really have accidents now. Fingers crossed! But he holds his poop until nap time when he has a diaper. 😁 He hasn't pooped on the potty all week. Hoping today is the day...

Good luck! I feel like I didn't really answer your question, but curious to see answers!

DS was almost ready at 18 months, so we went for it. No luck, he was very excited at first but in three days he was asking for them back. Tried the same thing at 22 months and it was a success.

DD is 17 months and totally not interested, so we may try to go cold turkey soon for a different reason... it's doomed to failure, but at least she might get the idea in her mind. She's a very stubborn girl and I think she'll figure it all out very fast, but only when she decides she wants to.

We did cold turkey except for naps and he was trained in about 3-4 days. It was a reboot of an earlier, failed attempt though before he turned three. We trained him at 3 years and 3 months and he was dry for nap and at night, so we ditched them altogether after day 3 and he's wet the bed one time in a year of being fully trained.

We didn't nap/night train right away but they were pretty good just after a couple days while awake. We went pants free and tried to stay around the house the first few days. I think we only had 1 poop accident in pants for each boy. Both kids were right around 2 when we trained. I would definitely recommend nap training at the same time though. My second was ready and nap trained shortly after day training and my oldest was still in a pull up at that point and I had to basically bribe him to stop using it!

@Mrs. Lemon-Lime: We trained my oldest at 28 months, and are currently training my youngest and she will be 3 in March. My mom and sister both did cold turkey with their kids and insisted I do it that way, I think it really does help with confusion...so long as the LO is ready! But what works for us may not work for someone else.

...and didn't use pull ups either, day or night how long did it take for your LO to be fully potty trained? We did the cold turkey route with LO1 and it took 3-4 days. On day 3 with LO2 and she has had only 2 accidents today, so not terrible. I'm curious what the average is though, when going this route with potty training.
