He's 2.5 still doesn't get it and basically time out means I carry him to the stairs, hold his legs so he sits, and I ask him why he's in time out, he tells me, apologizes, and then we're done. They have been very effective. Yeah, I think it would not have made sense to my little one if she didn't have her brother warming that rug every so often. She was totally OUTRAGED when I told her to go sit there. Besides having quite a strong personality, she has also seems to have picked up on everything (including bad tricks) early from her big bro. </p> <p>She's only had maybe 3 time outs, all for hitting I think, and she knew EXACTLY what was happening as she's seen her brother on that same little carpet square. </p>
