Daycare wanted to try out a one nap schedule for F (he's 11 months) because he was fighting the afternoon nap. We let them try it, even though I didn't think it was a good idea. He was a hot mess for a week and then I told them we needed them to switch back to two naps. They did & he's better now. I'm relishing the time in the infant room where we're allowed a say in his schedule.

He does go to a Montessori school, which focusing on the child's readiness, but I know saying things like "let him take two naps" won't fly in the older classrooms. :)

I think it depends. If I see that LO is really struggling with it then I would say something. There's been a few instances where I asked about schedules in new rooms and they were immediately responsive to working with me on it.

I adjusted to their schedule. I didn't like that at 12 months, she was being moved to one nap a day, she has been doing fine, though. I didn't like that they wouldn't let me bring her breakfast in and she had to wait till 9 for a snack. I just try and make her eat at 6:15. We deal with it b/c it works for all the other kids.

It depends. As an infant we picked her schedule and they followed it. But then in the next room, they started a class schedule and it was hard to have her on a schedule different then the other kids.

Yes, depending on what it was... And what impact it had on my LO, particularly if the daycare schedule left me with a super crabby baby!

My 13 mo baby has a different schedule at daycare (2 days a week) but it was born out of lots of discussion and trial and error. She's just too busy and happy to have two sleeps at daycare (she has fear of missing out :) ) but always has two at home. It works for us but if it didn't, I'd open up the communication about how to change it up.

I'm very lucky though as P is in an at home daycare where she is cared for by one person, so I have a close relationship with her carer and there are only 3-4 kids for her to work around in terms of organising their routines.
