But I wouldn't give her free use of it (i.e. it doesn't stay in her room all the time or after certain time of night, probably no data plan or anything crazy). I don't like the idea of us both being gone at dinner or something and maybe the babysitter's phone has died, etc etc... I also don't want to buy my kid a cell phone when they are 10, so a land line will probably be a must. But at the same time...kids don't seem to really call people, so maybe just having internet access and access to my cell will be enough? I haven't really thought about this. We might get one, but I may just let them use my phone (depending on what kind of phone I have). Currently I don't have a smart phone and we don't have texting plans and I honestly don't use the phone that much, so I could see myself just letting my kids use my phone to make calls (or Hubs phone if he's not on call).
