We have the same problem. I've been looking for some kind of mail bin type thing, but I don't have a good place to put it in the house. We end up letting the mail pile on the dining table and I just sift through it when it drives me crazy.

We have an office but I hate keeping stuff around, especially paper. We have the pin board and the letter bin here from PB: http://www.potterybarn.com/products/daily-system-white/?pkey=e%7Cpin%2Bboard%7C57%7Cbest%7C0%7C1%7C48%7C%7C11&cm_src=PRODUCTSEARCH

If there's something we need to keep because it needs some action it goes there. Bills that need to be paid, school forms that have to filled out, etc. We don't keep mail, it just get recycled. Laptops generally stay in the living room where we use them 90% of the time. We have a small cabinet in the living room with DVDs and book in it, so if we need to put them away they go in there as well. We don't use planners, everything we do is electronic. I hate paper, in case you can't tell, lol.

I have a mail bin by the entrance - I put bills and other important mail in there. Then when I pay the bills, I go through all that mail and determine what's a bill and what needs to be filed. Items that need to be filed go into a letter tray we keep on a short bookcase in our living room. Bills go into an accordion organizer by month (usually kept under the letter tray. When the letter tray gets full, I go through it and file everything accordingly into our file cabinet.

When I'm trying to make the house look extra nice because we're having company over, I'll just momentarily move the accordion organizer and letter tray into the bedroom to get them out of sight.

I have no solution for this but it's something I want to work on in the next year. Create a dedicated space for bills/papers/household things. Currently they're scattered all over and I've actually forgotten a payment or two recently.

I dont have a good solution, and I have two desks, lol.

School papers are the most challenging thing for me to organize. We get a ton of papers home, flyers, sign up things, happenings in the classroom, it can be overwhelming. And then there's the actual work papers and projects. I have a bin in the closet for those, but the other papers, I would love to hear what to do about that too!

We have this very problem. We actually have an office but dh works in there so we try not to let bills and stuff pile up in there too. So on the counter they go. Plus I'm just not naturally neat and organized.

We are planning on getting a small kitchen cart (like the IKEA one) so I can have my own work space for things like that. We have an empty weird corner space in the kitchen anyway.

I keep a secretary desk in the foyer. It has drawers on the bottom that are filled with hats and mitts. The desk part folds up so I don't have to look at the papers and mail clutter.

I have this exact same problem. It sucks. I have a little metal envelope thing that is hung in the kitchen. That keeps opened mail I need to do something with and coupons and such. I have a leaning ladder thing that I against a wall in my bedroom. That has a file cabinet box thing on the bottom rung. And then laptops are stored on the second rung. A wireless printer is kept in a linen closet and only brought out when we need it. I have a little pen holder on the kitchen counter, which bugs the hell out of me but its where I need it. (I'm actually probably going to move it somewhere else tomorrow! Ugh!) And so anyways, I'm very motivated to not have clutter. Small house problems.

We have an IKEA organizer in our hallway that is used to store past bills paid, bank statements, mortgage stuff, other important documents and my son's medical records. It's actually meant to store shoes but it's also perfect for storing papers. My laptop is stored in my bedside nightstand.

We have a two cubby bin that holds unfolded mail. We put bills to be paid on the fridge so we don't forget them. Then I file the receipts and paperwork into a bin we keep in the guest closet.

The laptop goes under a side table by the couch (it has a bottom shelf). My planner stays in my purse

DH lets mail pile up for a month or so. I usually end up opening it for him, file the bank statements, and give him a smaller pike to go through. If I left it up to him there'd be piles everywhere

Or a desk of any sort, where do you keep things like: bills, school papers, mail, laptop, planner etc. Mine is all at the end of our counter and it drives me crazy. I use it a lot though so tucking it away is a pain. Any creative ideas for this type of stuff?
