@Maysprout: it's a wifi enabled TV. Ours came with Roku, and it allows us to download apps to our TVs homescreen to watch the streaming services we have, like Hulu, Netflix, Amazon prime, etc.
I guess it's basically a TV+computer

We have a 61" TV, wall mounted, no additional boxes or wires and only requires one remote. That technological feat is my husband's pride and joy. We don't have cable or broadcast but we have Netflix and Hulu.

We have a projector and white screen. The projector is connected to Xbox, Laptop, DVD player. We have it in a separate room because we don't like having a TV or similar in the living room.

I don't have cable but I have a TV and a digital antenna (gets the free local channels- abc, nbc, cbs, pbs, etc) and then a streaming device (roku mostly and one amazon stick). I sign into my parents accounts to access netflix, amazon prime, hbo, fox sports, espn, etc. Roku is the best but I bought the amazon stick because it had one specific app that wasn't on the roku. I have the roku 3 I think (the faster one) and it's definitely the best.

@honeybear: it's a bit complicated and my DH set it all up (tech geek). The projector brand is Sanyo and we bought it off of a friend 5 years ago and it's still going strong. For sound, it's plugged into a Bose docking station speaker thing. For the videos, it's hooked it up to a Raspberry Pi.

@lamariniere: What kind of projector? Do you have to move it every time you want to watch a movie? And how is the sound? Apologies for all the questions, but I'm interested in maybe doing something like this.

We have relatively big monitors for our computers and use those sometimes. But we watch most movies with friends at their house, and they've got a big fancy TV. We're screen moochers, I guess, but we do bring dinner! :silly:

We don't watch broadcast TV or have cable. We have a 55" 1080p TV mounted above our fireplace, hooked up to the Xbox One which is how we watch Netflix, Amazon streaming, HBO Go, Youtube, etc. Totally perfect setup.

We just watch stuff on the iPad or computer but with more of us it might be nice to have the option of sending it to a bigger screen. We don't really need the TV aspect of it. Anyone have a simple cheap setup like this that can recommend a screen?
