I try to eat clean most of the time and don't have "cheat days" but will occasionally have something if it sounds good. I have found that I really don't even enjoy any of the foods I used to eat (fried stuff, sweets, etc). I do still love a good piece of cheesecake, but other deserts are hit or miss. I actually prefer a banana with almond butter as my "sweets". Fried food totally grosses me out now. We had to stop to get fast food while we were traveling this past weekend and I felt so incredibly gross. Need to do more research next time and find healthier options.

Yup. They're a major let down. We still do them to satisfy cravings and get a reminder why we don't eat that stuff all the time!!

Before I was pregnant I had cut out almost all sugar from my diet, on the off occasion that i would indulge it tasted horrible, made me feel sick and gave me a headache. However, during this preganancy so far I cannot get enough cakes and they taste a-ma-zing. Really hoping to be more healthy again soon.

@DillonLion: Same here. I felt very bloated and had a headache after eating a piece of dark chocolate once Whole 30 was over.

Cheat eating is more for my psyche.

I've found pop makes me feel very full/bloated very quickly. Ice cream makes me sick. But I've found I have a taste for dark chocolate!

Wine is still nice :)

My "cheat" days are never as enjoyable as they used to be. Most of the processed foods I've eaten (either out of necessity or perceived desire) since I've started eating clean haven't tasted that great at all. I much prefer real food now. I'm glad it's not just me

...does your cheat food taste delicious?

I had a strict elimination diet for a month and was looking forward to a delicious weekend of gluttony. I ate all the foods I was missing - including iced coffee! - but none of it tasted great. I think my taste buds just got calibrated to a lower level of sugar or something? I mean it tasted ok - it just wasn't as incredible as I remembered.

I think some meals are still great - like a great steak, which depends on fat and mouth feel. But the sort of sweet treats that I enjoy from time to time no longer have any appeal.

Has anyone eaten clean and still been able to enjoy cheat days? Or is it inevitable that eating clean changes your taste buds...
