We don't eat out much with our kiddos. Like, less than once a month. But when we travel, we eat out a lot. My kids are weird...they don't like many typical kid's foods.

If we are out for breakfast/brunch, we get the kids a fruit bowl to share and we request more berries than melon and we'll also get eggs and bacon or sausage and they'll split it. So generally we order from the adult menu.

For lunch/dinners, it depends on what's on the kids menu. My kids don't actually like crunchy/breaded stuff much, so if they have non breaded chicken or fish on the kid's menu, we will get it. Otherwise, we order them something from the adult menu and they split it. Or they will eat pasta with a side of veggies.

We'll go anywhere with DS (4 years old) - he really likes restaurants, so we have even taken him to a couple fancier restaurants (for lunch or early dinner) as a special treat. He eats off the regular menu - sometimes we'll get 3 appetizers to split and two mains, and we share everything or he shares our mains. Now that we have a newborn, fancy places are off the table for a while, but we'll go anywhere else for lunch. We'll need to wait a little while for dinner, since she's in her fussy-in-the-evening, cluster feeding stage.

If it has a high chair we will take DD. Local, fancy, chain, it doesn't matter. I will order off the kids meal because it's cheaper if they have something other than mac n cheese or chicken nuggets. I try to be considerate and only dine out with DD at family friendly times. I wouldn't take her to any restaurant after 7pm.

We do anything except fancy restaurants, but not very often. We usually get something off the kids menu for our older child but not the one year old (although we have.)

Mostly casual and usually from a kids menu. The only place that doesn't have one is our local Japanese place, so we just order them some appetizers and sides.

We are dealing with multiple food allergies, but I normally go to local, casual restaurants and order my 14 month old an extra side and we all share. So last week he got beans from my soup, sweet potato from my main dish, and a fruit cup. At our Chipotle like restaurant he will get a side of quac to complement half of my burrito bowl. At the Thai restaurant we split a butternut curry and sticky rice.

We mostly go to a couple of local casual places, American and Mexican food. Unless we are out for breakfast (when LO will polish off some eggs, her fav) she is terrible about eating kids meals. I try to order her some sort of carb+cheese but I think she just gets too distracted. So back to bringing cheerios, a pouch or yogurt tube and letting her people watch and eat off our plates if she wants more food.

Anything as long as it's family friendly! It depends where we go... We eat a lot of ethnic food and they don't always have kids menu so she will just eat what we eat. I will order her from kids menu if I know she'll eat it so I don't have to share :silly:

We go out usually once a week and it's usually a local casual place. We eat a lot of Mexican. Ds1(4) is a pretty good eater and usually orders his own meal. Tacos at mexican restaurant ( or sometimes quesadillas), pizza at Italian, chicken fingers lots of places. Sometimes pasta or dumplings. DS2 (14months) often just shares with me or occasionally DS1. We also often bring a pouch and fruit as a side.

Most of the places we go are locally owned and vary between casual and "foodie". Chains maybe 3x a year. Some have kids menus where LO usually orders chicken, fried fish or pasta and many don't. Some of the ones that don't will still make plain pasta off-menu and others we just order her something she will eat.

We like quite a few local places and casual chains- my husband manages a cool pizza/ beer place and DD obviously always gets cheese pizza there. Other places we mix it up- sometimes she gets her own thing but a lot of times I will get something I know she would eat and we just share since I never finish my meal out anyway.

We go to a lot of places like Chipotle or noodles and co, she usually shares with me but I do order her kids meals from time to time. We definitely take her anywhere except super fancy places, she's great with eating out which makes it easy. One good trick I've found is to check the sides menu, often I can order something from there that will do the trick or be a good supplement to whatever my husband or I ordered.

We eat out a lot, mostly at local restaurants, some more casual than others, but not like, fancy white tablecloth restaurants. Sometimes chains like shake shack or chipotle. We go on the early side (like, 5:30 for dinner or 10 for brunch) so it typically is less crowded than it would be during peak hours. Sometimes there is a kids menu, sometimes we order her side dishes or just a normal meal and expect to take leftovers home. She has pancakes for brunch usually or kid food if they have it (Mac and cheese/pizza/etc).

Right now we go to Mod Pizza a lot. They make a mini size pizza that's the perfect size, they are super thin wood fired pizzas so quick to cool and easy for kids to eat. They can watch the pizzas being made too. We just bring pouch, clementine, goldfish, and milk and he's all good. Baby gets to pinch a few bites of pizza too. The food is also good so DH and I enjoy and it's pretty cheap!

We also do local Mexican. DS eats lots of chips and salsa, rice mixed with some beans and shredded meat off our plate, and we bring a drink and pouch from home. Baby eats rice and beans and pouch.

The baby actually loves pho so if DH and I go out to lunch we like to go to pho and share noodles with him.

We got pretty much wherever we want to go. Some chains, some local places. We don't eat family meals at fast food. Mostly we order for her off the kids menu but depending on the place we may not. Like if we go to california pizza kitchen or something, I'll just split a pizza with her.

She does not like chicken fingers. She's also not a big fan of fries. She eats different things in different places. At Mexican places she always gets a quesadilla or enchilada. At Asian places she gets fried rice. At American-type places we usually do mac n cheese, grilled cheese, or a kids pizza.

We go anywhere except "fancy" restaurants or bars where kids would seem out of place. We eat at all sorts of different ethnic restaurants (thai, japanese, chinese, indian, mexican, etc) and at those places, she usually just shares with us. If a kids menu exists, she usually likes to order her own thing from it, but she often ends up sharing with us anyway. She's pretty good about picking different things each time. Except if we go to the Cheesecake Factory, and then it's mac & cheese every time.

We do mostly local casual places, occasionally sit down chains. It's 50/50 for a kids menu at this point - but she is 2 and we pick her meals. We only eat out once a week so I'm fine with it being a slightly junky kids meal if I think that's what she will eat the most peacefully.

We don't eat out often, but if we do it's on the road (so fast food, pretty much) or a very casual family friendly place. My 3.5 yo usually wants mac and cheese or scrambled eggs. Oh or we go to the local bagel place. So I'll get that on a kids menu or regular depending on the cost.

1. What kind of restaurants do you usually choose- (fast food, chains like Olive Garden, locally owned casual, Foodie-type places etc)
2. Do your kids order food from a kids menu? And if so do they always order the same kind of thing? Like they always order chicken fingers?
