DD is almost 9 months and we're skipping the sippy to go straight to straw, but she hasn't gotten the hang of it yet and I don't offer it very often. She also doesn't like water and it's a pain to pump just to try to teach her the cup. Warm water does work a bit better than cold. She actually loves water though. We started giving her cow's milk every once in a while at maybe 17 months once she wasn't nursing as much. I don't see much of a point in using a sippy since he gets all of his liquids from me, but I would like for him to learn how to use one. He's not too keen on water (he'll take two sips from a bottle and abandon the rest) and I can't and don't want to give him juice. I definitely don't have enough milk to pump and put in a sippy. Lol </p>
