That said, when my kid had a cold sore last year (it was July and she was 13 months old), it turned out it was hand foot mouth. I've had singular sores that are 1/4" in diameter and bunches of small ones that cluster up to 3/4" in diameter!:(</p> <p>Poor baby - they're painful. I feel so bad for her! I'm not sure if she can use any of the medications especially because she might ingest some so close to her mouth. There are clear patches that I've found to work really well after the sores have showed up. But they're Canadian, therefore not FDA approved so I hesitate to suggest for your child. I don't know if Lysine supplements are Ok for kids? But if her lips are also chapped, those factors might be combined. When I have a really bad outbreak (usually once a year or less), I get them over 1/4 to 1/2 of my mouth...it's awful!</p> <p>Have you asked if it felt tingly at all?
