@mrbee: oh sir...there is no making it up.

It's called : a vente from Starbucks and a big sigh to start off my morning.

On weekends, I will nap when Lo naps or when he is with DH. M-F though, too busy.

Coffee and/or sleep earlier the next night. I'm not a napper. I think I've fallen asleep once or twice ever while LO napped. One of those times I was sick.

make it up? hahahaha
yeah never have that opportunity.

if it's a particularly bad week of sleep I try to keep one weekend day free to relax and hang out with DS instead of running a thousand errands.

I can't make it up. I'm either at work or alone with two young babies (DH and I are rarely home at the same time)

Last night I only got four hour collectively, so I'm DYiNG today. Lots of coffee!!!!!

In the pre baby days, I could easily sleep 12 hours in a 24 hour period!

I drink extra coffee. Now that I'm back at work I can't just nap at nap time, so hard.

We each get one sleep in day on the weekend. During the week if I can I go to bed early.

I also pray for DS to have a god nights sleep. At one he still has a couple night wakings. In his defense he has had a cold for two weeks and is cutting a tooth.

I don't. I'm generally not a huge believer in being able to make up lost sleep with a nap or a morning of sleeping in. There is a lot of research that shows that in order to remedy "sleep debt", you really need to be able to go to bed when tired and sleep straight through until you wake up naturally, and continue this cycle for a while until your body starts to reset. That just isn't feasible for me so I don't really bother trying.

I tend not to. Sometimes if I've had a lack of sleep for 2 or 3 nights a week, then I will have a lazy day at the weekend and stay in bed all day relaxing. I tend to make up for it in rest rather than sleep.

I used to be able to nap in the afternoon with the kids, but now Charlie doesn't really nap. So I try to stay up until Olive's nap time, and then I sleep in Charlie's bed while she sleeps.

Sometimes that doesn't work, and then I usually just fall asleep while I'm putting the kids down that night.

If you fall short of sleep one night, how do you make it up?
