Not sure how this would go over with a baby/toddler per se, but the adults in our household love salmon when it's been grilled on a cedar plank!

@wheres_c: yes, while you wait! It takes about 12 minutes for the salmon that is already precut in 6oz portions. Make sure to tell them it is for a child, so you want it well done. They will even add your choice of seasoning. They don't have salt free seasonings as an option, so I go plain and LO loves it. I am no longer as crazy about LO eating salt free, but I see no point in adding seasoning if he eats it plain. It is the easiest, healthiest protein so I buy it there once a week. It is also quite reasonable at less than $6 and the steaming and seasoning are all free!

@Mrs. Lemon-Lime: You just don't want to over-cook it. I often like to do a combination of searing on the stovetop and then transferring to the oven to finish off. You can also cook it in the oven over a water bath: put a cooling rack on top of a cake pan or medium/shallow casserole dish filled with boiling water. I have oven racks that slide easily, so it's easier to do the water bath safely. It's safest to place the container on the rack and pour the boiling water in so you don't have to transfer it with boiling water sloshing everywhere. We have a long-handled watering can that did the trick before when I had an oven with stationary racks. Hope that makes sense!

I do not eat salmon, so I have them steam a 6 oz portion for me at Whole Foods. LO eats the first half plain. Then the next day I mix the second half with Greek yogurt and dill and he has salmon salad. We also bake tilapia with garlic and EVOO or jerk seasoning.

We mostly do salmon with a little spice rub, or with lemon and salt and pepper, or with a little teryaki glaze. Babies love flavor! We either cook it in a pan on the stove or on the barbecue.

We love seafood. We eat many kinds of fish (walleye, salmon, halibut, tuna (not canned), perch, sole, flounder, catfish) and prepare it different ways. Using a cornmeal batter and panfried, breaded, steamed, broiled, poached, in a veggie packet, grilled, smoked... it's fun to find new recipes and try new things. The girls really like salmon with a beurre blanc (like a butter barbecue sauce) that has a spice rub on it.

We eat a lot of salmon and white fish. Wish fish is usually for fish tacos, so its either baked or cooked up in a pan with lime juice, s&p.

Salmon - tons of ways! We broil salmon or grill it. Top with lemon slices, lemon and dill, terayaki sauce, BBQ sauce, topped with olive tapenade and more.

what kind of fish do you give them, and how do you prepare it?

My LO likes fish but since DH isn't a fan, I don't make it very often. I bake salmon for her a lot but I think she's getting bored with it.
