We also had two ultrasounds and stayed with the RE until 8 weeks. Then the OB wanted to see me at 9 weeks.

@MrsCB: I only had one beta because my first beta had a level of 220. I had my first ultrasound with my RE at six weeks and we saw two sacs. We saw two heartbeats during the second ultrasound. But one baby lagged behind so I stayed with my RE until I was over 9 weeks along. Since there were two babies for a while, I had four (?) ultrasounds with the RE's office.

I already had an Ob gyn but ended up switching to a new office that the RE recommended. I had my first appointment there the day after my last ultrasound with the RE.

Congratulations on your BFP!

I had a beta on 12dpo, then a beta on 14dpo to ensure they were doubling. After that they didn't see me until almost 7 weeks for the first ultrasound (where we got to see the heartbeat and our little "worm"). Then we had another ultrasound at 10 weeks. Our RE recommended at our 7 week ultrasound that we schedule our first appointment with our OB for week 11. We were discharged after our 10 week ultrasound. My RE's office wasn't near where we lived (so he wouldn't have had recommendations), so I worked to decide on an OB in the early weeks of my pregnancy.

I had a beta, a repeat bets (48 hrs later), a 7 week u/s and a 9 week u/s. Everything looked good at each step, so after that I was officially graduated from the RE. But I was also in contact with my OB's office, and had appointments at 8 and 10 or 11 weeks with them.

Wow, a wide range in what REs do! I'll have to ask the nurse when she calls with my results on Monday, assuming things are still looking good. I think I know which OB/midwife practice I want to go with, I'm just not sure when is a good time to find out if they will take me on as a patient. I also can't wait to hear a heartbeat!

@ladybee: good luck at our appointment tomorrow!

@MrsCB: I had three HCG draws 48 hours apart and one progesterone test. My RE didn't want to see me till 7 weeks so we go for our first u/s tomorrow. I'm hoping to see a strong heart beat and then I'm released to my OB who wanted to see me between 8-10 for another u/s due to history if mc.

Initial beta to confirm pregnancy, then another bloodtest in a couple of days to make sure HCG levels are doubling as they should. Next is u/s maybe around 6 weeks to check cardiac signs, then graduate to OB at 10 wks. At least, that's the protocol at my RE's. Like OCMAMA said, I'm sure they will recommend an OB. Happy and healthy 9 months!

With the RE, did beta and first U/S to confirm pregnancy. Then did three more ultrasounds with RE (at 5 weeks, 6 weeks and 8 weeks). Was passed to my OB at 9 weeks. Your RE should have OB recommendations for you. Good luck!

I had 2 betas with my RE, though I can't remember if they were back to back or if they were 2 days apart.

After the betas, we scheduled a 5 week ultrasound to determine a fetal pole & gestational sac.
Then there was a 7 week appointment where we got to see beans heartbeat!
I had an 8 week viability appointment as well, which was another ultrasound & another heartbeat appointment.

Everything looked great, so I was released to an OB at this appointment.

I didn't have an OB, either, and had been seeing a regular gyne up until this point. My REs office referred me to an amazing OB office & I loved them so so so much that I've switched and now see them for regular visits as well.

Good luck!

So I'm wondering what the next steps are after my beta on Monday. If you got pregnant while seeing an RE, what came after that? I assume at least an ultrasound or 2? When did you get passed on to an OB? I don't have one and I'm not sure when I need to find one by.
