The latch was painful and I imagine I didn't have as much milk, but I'm not really sure. If he'd been younger I think I would have made more of an effort to stick it out, but I felt like he was ready to be done anyway. It just sort of worked out naturally. </p> <p>Interestingly, I have felt letdowns since the middle of my second trimester and definitely have colustrum if I hand express.
