I'll have three under 3 for about a month (I had two under for four months).

I'm worried about how Oliver (who will be the middle child) will react because he's very possessive of me. He doesn't like anyone touching me. But that's a short term problem. He'll HAVE to get over that eventually. And I really wanted all our kids equally spaced apart.

First two are 20 months apart; third will be 3+ years from second. The reason was that I extended BF and I felt like my body needed more time to recover.

My 2 are 20 months apart. We will probably TTC again Dec or Jan when LO2 is 19 or 20 months. I don't want a late spring or summer baby and af just returned in August so that is the main reason for our timing.

My first two are 22 months apart and my second and third will be 18-19 months apart depending on LO 3's arrival. I cannot give advice since #3 isn't here yet but I'm looking forward to it.

Our older 2 girls are 15 months apart, our middle and youngest girl are 18 months apart. I'd say if you can handle 2 under 2 with very minimal support to no support from anyone else then its no worries. We live 6 hours from all our family (moved for DH's work when DD1 was 5 months), DH works OOT a lot- I'm still alive despite running the asylum 24/7 ;)

Wow, you all are making me feel like I've missed the boat on #3! DDs are 22 months apart; the oldest is now 3 and change.....I'm not quite ready for #3 just yet (DH is!), but realizing that when DD1 was as old as DD2 is now, I was more than halfway through my pregnancy with DD2....that puts some pressure on me!! :)

The closest gap between 2 and 3 I could have at this point, realistically, is probably about 27 months. Realistically I think it'll be closer to 30 months, minimum!

My first 2 are 18 months apart. We aren't pregnant with our third, but will start trying next month. That will put us at another 18 month gap ( 3 under 3 briefly !) This gap isn't for everyone, but for us it makes the most sense. Financially, with daycare for both girls, it doesn't make sense for me to work longer then what I need to qualify for EI. I've also always wanted this spacing, though it might be hard, I don't have any interest of having one kid out of the baby phase and then starting again, that would be harder for me. So no experience yet with 3, but that's how we came up with our spacing plans :)

My first two are 20 months apart and I'm currently pregnant with #3. Baby 2 and 3 will be exactly 2 years apart. I had c sections with the 1st two and will again with #3. My doctor never mentioned a specific amount of time I had to wait between pregnancies.

I think it will be hard but that won't last forever. To me, babies are what's hard so no matter the gap I would consider it hard! Sometimes I worry that I won't be able to handle it, but that's fear talking. I wanted my kids close in age and I'm older so time isn't on my side.

I have three and they are each less than 2 years apart. We love it, but it is WAY WAY harder having 3. More so just managing getting out of the house (we both work so our nanny has to come early otherwise we can't even get ourselves ready!), not having enough hands, managing naps with lots of activities,. I read somewhere recently that having 3 feels dangerous and I totally agree! Managing a 3-4 year old and a baby is no problem...but also dealing with a 1.5-2.5 year old who likes to run, sometimes bites, tantrums getting into the car seat or onto public transportation, likes to use every public restroom, fights bedtime and and two other young kids is tricky! It's all a stage, but it's a tough one for sure so make sure you have some good teammates...and be ready for lots of sympathetic looks from strangers!

First two are exactly 24 months apart. 2 & 3 will be 17 months apart.

From what I've read, doctors recommend at least 18-24 months between pregnancies to allow for your body to fully recover & for stuff like folate & iron to replenish. But I'm not a doctor so take that with a handful of salt :silly:

@knittylady: We haven't started trying for a 3rd yet, but we are planning on trying again when our youngest is about 12-13 months. Our girls are 21 months apart. I like the idea of them being close in age so that they will largely enjoy the same activities and hopefully have a lot in common. It's good because none of gear will expire. They can share clothes when they're teenagers. I also like it because we have long mat leaves, so I am home with them more when they're really needy and daycare is expensive.

As far as that many pregnancies in a row go, I have horrible nightmare pregnancies and I just want to get being pregnant over with!

Oh and the other thing is if there is some issue with having too many back to back pregnancies medically. I think if you have c sections you need to wait a certain amount of time before you get pregnant again. But I've never had a c section so I don't know specifics.

My boys are 15 months apart. The youngest is just about 13 months and baby fever is kicking in! I'm wondering about those who have been in this situation and had a 3rd - what was the spacing like? How did that work out for the kids? For you? Do you have the two and are like me and thinking about the third? What are your thoughts?

I know it would be smarter to wait a while before #3, I obviously know how hard it is to have an infant with a young toddler around… but yeah. Fever.
