I had a very similar situation when I had my second csection four weeks ago, LO #1 was 22mo. I still have not gotten the clear to lift anything heavier than LO#2.

I feel like I COULD lift LO#1 and care for him solo, but until the doctor gives the a-ok I am not risking anything.

@leeenie: I asked my doc how long it would take for recovery for me to be able to watch both kids on my own and she said two weeks! Although, she did add that she would still be a little nervous after that until I am healed more.

my oldest was turning 4 when i had my youngest, so i'm not sure i'm much help. with both c-sections i've had a very quick healing time, but i'd say maybe a couple weeks if you're not sure. talk to your doctor about your concerns, and also before you leave the hospital. they might give you a better idea of how long you'll need some help.

Bumping to see if anyone can help! I'm in the same situation. #1 is 25 months and still very attached to me and really wants to be held at certain times.

How long did your recovery take to get to the point where you felt like you could take care of your kids alone? I am having my c-section next month and I will also have my 21 month old to take care. I am trying to set realistic expectations for how long I will need help. I am a SAHM and my daughter demands me to carry her quite a bit although I am working on this.
