I just moved the straps up to the highest point today and wasn't sure if I should be taking out the headrest too but I went ahead and did it. DS is 4.5 months and 19lbs so I think it's ok!</p> <p>Not to thread jack, but does anyone else find it difficult to get their LOs legs under the straps? I feel like we have to really bend and turn them and I'm afraid I'm going to hurt him.. I just hadn't been too sure about the head rest insert...but I think I will take it out tonight! We removed the headrest padding when she was about 3 months old. At that point she had great head control and showed signs of wanting to be able to move her head more and look around. In that case, we took it out early on too, like at 2-3 months. DS is 8 months and about 16 pounds. I don't want to switch him out of the carrier yet, but he throws a FIT when I put him in his carseat. I have the straps threaded up as high as they will go, but I am not sure if I remove the headrest if that will help or not. </p>
