Mine didn't work properly either. It numbed me from the bikini line down (my legs were dead weights) but I could still feel all of my abdominal contractions. They tried to fix it twice, but no dice. I would still try again, because it at least prevented me from feeling any tearing.

Mine failed on 3 tries with my first. If we do it again, I'm going med free.

Failed first, and I was all set to give it another go with my second, but there was no time. We were at the hospital less than 15 minutes before baby #2 made his appearance.

I had 3 failed epidural with my first, so I was gonna try to go without for my second until I found out I'd probably be induced. So I labored on pitocin as far as I could and then got the epidural, which went too far and became a spinal catheter. My spine is cursed!

Mine wore off twice but when they topped off the meds ( the first time it wore off) it only took on one side. They ended up giving me fentanyl to take the edge off that pain.

I would get one again. The relief I did get was a huge help. And it didn't really work so I was able to move my legs.

I had the worst experience with my epi. I was induced, had three attempts at an epi, and then ended up getting it removed entirely because of all the issues with it.

With my second, I went completely med-free.

Hell yes. Mine didn't work at all and I do not want to go through that again.

Mine didn't work the first time because I got it too late, the 2nd time it only worked on one side and wore off quickly. The third time was terrible. I will spare you the details, but it also didn't work well. If I was going to have more babies I probably would ask for something else.

Mine did not work AT ALL. I got it too late, plus they don't really work for back labor. If we have another, I'm undecided.

Did you/would you get an epidural with your second?

My epidural never fully took and when it did, it wore off about half an hour later. It took some of the edge off, but I could still feel most everything. But I couldn't move. I don't know if it's worth trying for one again. I don't want to end up in the same position of not being able to move, but still feeling almost everything.
