My contractions began to feel like period cramps-very low, and they made me so nauseous. They got really intense, but the pain was not sharp, like I expected it to be. Instead, I just felt like I wanted to throw up, and the back contractions would not quit. I'm sorry they wouldn't induce you, but I am glad for progress. Hoping they come very, very soon!

@twodoghouse: Girl, I feel you. I wanted those babies out SO BAD when I hit 37 weeks! I just felt like crap at this point. Good luck! I hope you can induce labor on your own!

@FliegepilzHut: Well, I'm not in labor :( Still feel crappy though. The good news is that I am starting to dilate. Only 1.5 today but it's progress! Dr refused to induce me today (hey it was with a shot!) but my induction is scheduled for one week from today (I'll be 38 w 1 d) so I guess there is an end in sight! Thanks for checking in with me!

@FliegepilzHut: Thanks for the good thoughts. I've heard that about your body cleaning out and labor too. But honestly my stomach/body has been in so much pain/turmoil from just being this far along with twins that I don't want to look too much into it. Fingers crossed I have some good news from dr tomorrow though!

@twodoghouse: I think the "cleaning out" may be typical of labor? (But again, I have no personal experience to back that up.) Just don't feel bad about getting reassurance or even getting told to "go back home and labor. "Your babies are probably ready to come on out! Will be thinking of you!

@FliegepilzHut: I'll see my dr at 8:30 tomorrow, so unless things get way worse I think I'll be able to wait until then? She's been checking my cervix at the last couple appt so I think that's the plan for tomorrow too!

I had a similar situation as you. Around 37 weeks the contractions got longer and much more intense and painful. I just kind of knew.

I don't have any experience...but I would think that feeling more pressure and intense discomfort, I would rather be on the safe side, and get my cervix checked. Some women progress without anything like the pain you're describing!
Actually, maybe it would just be worth calling your doctor/talking to the exchange?

They got much more intense, difficult to walk, talk or breathe through. I also lost pieces of my mucus plug.

I've had pretty regular, painful contractions since the hospital stopped my preterm labor 5 weeks ago. However, a week ago my cervix was still not dilated, just soft and 75% effaced. Because contractions are my norm, my dr said not to go to the hospital until my water breaks or contractions get so bad that I can't walk or talk through them.

I'm just wondering what others experienced when the BH contractions switched over to the real deal? I've been feeling sick/nauseous all day today and the pain I'm feeling now is different than my usual contractions. I don't know how to describe the difference though? My body has sort of been "cleaning itself out" so to speak, so I've been drinking a lot of water to stay hydrated. Also baby A seems to have gotten even lower, which I didn't think was possible. I have to basically grab my crotch when I get up to walk around because she feels like she's going to fall out!

My husband asked if I could be going into real labor, but I have no idea if I could be or not! I don't know if/how real labor will feel different from what I've experienced so far? I have a dr appt in the morning, so I guess we'll find out then if this is doing anything to my cervix. But in the meantime I'm looking for others' experience with this!
