Mine was scheduled at 9:30am and I had to be there at 7:30. They did some pre-op bloodwork, checked vitals, and had the anesthesiologist come talk to me. I think I went into the OR right at 9:30 and he was born at 10:21.

@DisneyBee: I go next week and meet with the Doctor who is performing the surgery and she'll tell me everything to expect.

I was scheduled for 7:30am and had to arrive at 5:30am. went in just a bit after the scheduled time.

L+D was full, so they just had me in the pre-op/recovery room the whole time which was fine - we were the only ones in there. It was a pretty laid back experience, at one point the nurse even offered to go get our parents if we wanted to see them before the surgery (we declined, haha!).

Scheduled for 1pm and checked in at 11am. There were a few emergency situations with other patients and I had to wait for my Dr...my procedure started at 2:55 and LO was born around 3:30.

I had blood work done two days before and I couldn't eat or drink anything after midnight. I had some PP complications and I wasn't able to drink until 9:30pm and wasn't allowed food until the next morning. :(

@Dandelion: I also have a c-section scheduled in March, but for March 27 at 7:30 AM. So far, they told me that I need to arrive at 5:45 AM. They haven't given me all the specifics yet, but I think I"m supposed to get bloodwork done a week before the surgery.

scheduled for 11h30, had to be there at 09h00. Couldn't eat or drink for 6 hours before the op. When I arrived, into a gown, IV, baby hr monitor, funny gross drink to stop me from vomiting. I was pushed back to 11h50ish b/c the OR wasn't ready - DD born at 12h15. Most stress-free experience, esp after we lost DS at 20weeks and had to labour to birth him. Loved this experience.

Good luck and yay

Same 9:30 and I had to get there by 7:30 to get prepped (sign docs, put on gown, IV, and belly straps to monitor baby's heart rate). Both of my boys were born (they are almost three years apart) about an hour after the start time. Oh and I was in the same room for prep and recovery and then wheeled off to my room when my room was ready.

Mine was scheduled for 8 and I don't remembering I had to be there at 5 or 6. I think it was 5. Surgery started around 7:30 and DS was born right before 8.

When I got there I went to admissions even though I had pre-registered so most of it was done. Then we went to the maternity floor to the surgery area. I met one of the nurses who gave me a gown to change in and scrubs for my sister and DH who were going to be with me. They did some monitoring on me and the baby, put an IV in, took some history, etc. A nurses aid came in and shaved me and prepped the area. I went to the OR by myself to get the epidural/spinal (I don't remember). Then sister and DH came in and we got started. After it was done we were in the same temporary recovery room for about 30 minutes. I was holding the baby and attempted to nurse. Then we moved to our room.

The whole process was smooth and relaxed. I plan a repeat c section this time.

Mine was scheduled for (I believe, hard to remember!) around 1pm and I had to be there by 10am. No food after midnight the night before. They checked LO's heart rate, but not a lot of testing or being hooked up to machines. Because of emergency c-sections, mine got pushed back to 5;30pm.

Before I went to the OR, my OB came in and we talked step by step through what would happen; she had also stopped by to check in on me throughout the day. Then I changed into a gown and we went to the OR and LO was born shortly after!

@Dandelion: I had to wait for 20 mins in the waiting room.. There wasn't a bed ready for me yet.

Once I got back to pre-op they had me change into a hospital gown & remove all my jewelry. Then the nurse hooked up an iv with fluids and someone from the anesthesiology department came and talked to me about the spinal. He was really awesome with answering my questions before I signed the consent form. They checked my airway & he showed me exactly where the needle would be placed, and had me practice leaning over to get it. He really was awesome.

After that, I waited. There was an emergency surgery just before I was supposed to be taken back, so I didn't actually go back until 11:15ish.

Chloe was born at 11:33!

Mine was scheduled for 11am and I had to be there by 8am. I think it was to deal with the paperwork, get prepped, etc. but I'm not sure since I went into labor two days before and it changed the plan

No food after midnight, I believe. A nurse called the a day or two before and gave me all the specifics.

What time was it scheduled for and what time did you have to be at the hospital?

Mine is scheduled for 9:30 am on March 31 but they haven't told me specifics yet. I didn't think to ask yesterday when they told me.

Just curious about other's experiences.
