I only had one iui but I only remember having blood drawn on cd3 and then for betas. I'm not sure there was any more but it's been almost a year so I forget.

I was on injectables (Menopur) and every time I had an appointment for monitoring, I had blood drawn. It checked my progesterone. Or may Estrogen. Either way there was bloodwork every time.

My IUI cycles I was on Femara and I had b/w at every appointment, CD 3, then usually again for each of my monitoring checks then the day of trigger and a beta 2 weeks later. I am in Canada which may make a difference but if we hadn't been monitoring my b/w and just relied on OPK's I likely would have missed my surge for the second IUI since I ended up surging on CD 9

I did a few IUI cycles. The first few I was on Femara and the last one I was on daily injectibles. I never had blood drawn during my cycles. I had the initial blood work - CD3 - done once, but that was it. I was monitored with ultra sounds. During my IVF cycle I had blood drawn every time I went in for a ultra sound.

I was on Follistim (injectible) and had blood drawn almost every visit. I was a slow responder and stimmed for 3 weeks. The first week I went in twice, after that I was in every other day. Sometimes I would have 2 days between appointments but I had a lot of blood work done to check my estrogen levels so they could adjust my dosage accordingly.

When I was on Clomid or Femara I only had blood work done to see if I ovulated. But that was also with a different RE office so I don't know if the protocol would have been different with my current office.

I voted other - i was in an IUI study, and i *think* i was on femara with an HCG trigger shot. I got blood taken every time I went to the office - the beginning of my cycle, a week after that, 2-3 times the week of ovulation and at the end of my cycle. It was a LOT of blood draws.

Yes, bloodwork and ultrasound at every visit. Typically visits were CD3, CD13 and then intermittently until I was ready for ovulation. Depending on how long it took my eggs, it was much as 5 times in a cycle. They check your E2 (estradiol) to see if your eggs are still maturing and growing, or if you're done. I did Clomid only cycles, Femara only cycles, and Femara + Gonal-F (injectable) but I didn't inject every day.

ETA: this was with timed intercourse. If I had done an IUI cycle, it would have been WAY more monitoring. They also just charge a flat fee for that cycle, not for individual visits.

i was only on clomid but my RE never took blood. I got pregnant after 2 cycles with Clomid after seeing the RE. Well - they did take blood once I got my BFP to check my HCG.

I was monitored with bloodwork and ultrasounds for every IUI cycle. The first 2 were with Clomid/HCG and the 3rd was with the injectible Bravelle/HCG. Bloodwork on day 3, and bloodwork every time I went in for monitoring. The final IUI that worked, I probably had bloodwork drawn a total of 5 times.

I'm with @TheReelDeal that my RE was looking at the LH and Estrogen. And using that information to adjust my meds. I think it is what helped us fine tune the process. I don't think the ultrasound alone would have been enough to go on.

I was on daily injectables (gonal f) and had b/w pretty much ever other day starting cd2-3 until trigger shot. Not fun!

i'm not sure what you mean by daily injectables, but i took a combo of clomid (day 3-8) and injectables (day 8-11) plus a trigger shot with my iui cycles.

i never had b/w done except when i first starting seeing the RE. i had 3 iui cycles and during the actual cycles b/w was not drawn. i was monitored via ultrasounds.

I voted other, I was on clomid and HCG trigger each cycle, but I got b/w done every time I went into the office. So when I started the clomid there was a blood draw, when I came back a couple of days after my last clomid pill, I had a blood draw and ultrasound, if no mature follies, I would come back in two days and have a blood draw and ultrasound. Then of course after ovulation there was another blood draw to see progesterone and estrogen and then a beta for pregnancy. Whew!!

I believe my RE was looking for LH and Estrogen before ovulation.

I get b/w done cycle day 3 with an u/s then again CD 12 when they check for mature eggs, I would insist on it this day as they check your estrogen level to ensure your eggs are mature, and again 1 week after am IUI to make sure progestrone is in your system to ensure a viable pregnancy! Good luck, I am also only on clomid, when I was on injectables daily I did b/w and u/s every 2 days!

My RE (and clinic?) only does blood draws once every 6 month.

I've seen many of you mention you've gotten b/w once a cycle or up to 3x a cycle.

I can have more b/w but I would have to pay at least $100.

Also, please mention if you were on daily injectables. I'm only on oral meds (femera). I do trigger with HCG but I'm not going to count that as a daily injectable.

I think I read that for injectables, b/w is needed to check dosage.

This is a spin-off based on my recent RE appt where I asked if I could get more b/w done during my cycle. http://boards.hellobee.com/topic/if-check-in-1017/page/2#post-1164967
