SAME HERE! I was tracking and O'd a WEEK earlier than normal. I knew right away when I saw my temp spike the day after. Sure enough!

Yes, I went off my BCP a little earlier than we would have liked kids because I was on it for so long (16 years) and I had had extremely irregular cycles before. I guess I was curious. My husband didn't pull out one time (he did the rest of the month) and I didn't think one time would matter. I didn't find out until 8 weeks because I had heavy implantation bleeding I thought was my period. Discovered all of that around 16weeks (in for my NT scan).

this one wasn't really an oops but we were supposed to be avoiding (until back from vacay- next cycle). I ovulated one day earlier than normal so we ended up having had sex 5-6 days before ovulation. They really do live 5 days. I'm getting an IUD after this one.

My older son took 18 months to conceive so after he was born I slacked on getting back on birth control. I had the prescription filled I just hadn't started taking it yet. Oops! I now have Irish twins, 11 months and 10 days apart!

...we really weren't trying! I was told 8+ years ago that I had some kind of infertility (and at 20, I didn't care too much to look into it) so FI and I weren't taking any precautions. He's been the only one for 8 years and we haven't had any scares prior to now. And now the pee stick is obnoxiously positive.

The worst part is baby is due the week before we're supposed to get married. And the deadline for deposits on travel (we were going to Jamaica) was yesterday...

I was 9 mo pp and hadn't had a period yet. The pill gave me migraines and I kept thinking I would "figure something out later." We used withdraw/condoms in the meantime. I honestly can't think of a day we didn't use one of those but we must've!

I mean I get that it's still possible but it's not exactly how you go about *tryinng* to have a kid!

it was a surprise... my thermometer broke mid cycle and the new one read my temps much higher than the old one so FF said I had ovulated early and I thought we were in the clear

I still have no idea how it happened. According to my EDD, I would have conceived on my period (which we did not DTD during that time). I didn't even find out until I was 7 1/2 weeks because I just had no idea it was a possibility.

I took my pills religiously. For years I insisted on condoms as well, but I eventually relaxed on the double protection. Then I had a miscarriage (twins, actually); I was in denial throughout that experience because I thought it wasn't possible. I always took my pills. Apparently, we are very fertile.

We were NTNP, and we just got married. We were in the mindset of starting in a few months, but it happened it a lot sooner. Since I wasn't prepared, I thought I was really ill when the pregnancy symptoms came. Even my PCP didn't catch it, but she did diagnose a heart condition I have, which flares up with the increased blood flow from pregnancy. I was 12 weeks along when I went to the OB.

A lot of people thought we had a shot gun wedding. We originally planned for August but had to move up to June due to DH's grandmother's health. Assumption was that we moved it up because I was pregnant.

I came off BCP when E was 12 months because we thought it might be interfering with my sex drive. We decided to PNP, knowing full well it could result in pregnancy - we said "what will be will be". We DTD so infrequently - once every couple of months - the risk was pretty low..... but then, one day, DH didn't pull out. It was the only time we had DTD in 6 weeks. She's 3 weeks now!

I switched birth controls and apparently overestimated how quickly the new one would take effect... 5 weeks later we learned we were having DD!

With this pregnancy, it was a "surprise" more than an "oops"- I had my IUD removed a few months beforehand but we hadn't really been trying because hub's work schedule was crazy. I'm super happy with the timing though!! We found out just as we got settled in a great new apartment and our children will be about 3 years apart, so DD is old enough to get excited about her baby.

Sleep deprivation! LO1 was 6 months old, I had one period, and I was too out of it to think through that I could now get pregnant. (So "oops" in the sense that we were definitely not trying, but not in the sense that we had some failure of reliable birth control.)

I was told by two doctors that I would never conceive naturally. So after my son was born I threw out my pills and figured we'd just go back to the fertility center when we were ready for #2! Turns out both docs were wrong but sadly that ended in m/c.

I am currently 33 weeks pregnant though and even though we were trying it was still an oops! I thought the cycle was over since I was using ovulation predictors. Turns out I ovulated a week late so I guess it was lucky DH's birthday was that weekend lol!!

I got pregnant 4.5 days before I ovulated. I was charting and guessed I was safe. That pregnancy ended at 8 weeks. This time I was sloppy counting my days (not temping because I was still nursing at night), not exactly a surprise because I realized my oops a week later.

I had a "period" a week later.

If you had a surprise pregnancy, do you know how it happened?

I had no idea how mine happened until my recent ultrasound, when I discovered I was a bit further along than I thought. We were using protection during the fertile window but apparently I ovulated a week earlier than usual (which has never happened in 5 years of tracking). Oops.
