Yes, I second ice packs. I keep them at work and at home and just press it into my side. You can also try keeping a hand or something warm in the middle part of your belly to encourage baby to move over. Don't worry - it will get better as they drop!

I had rib pain from LO kicking my rib! That jerk. But he would only kick it once in a while. If I push pressure on the area where he was kicking and he would stop. Lying down helped me get through it also. I seriously thought he was going to crack my rib with a big kick! Luckily that didn't happen.

Was also going to recommend ice to the area you'd like the baby to move away from and an exercise ball. The ball came in handy after the baby was born too!

Ice packs, keeps baby out of ribs, not comfy for you either but anything to help bruised ribs recover. Also getting on all fours and letting baby hang down in tummy rather than up in ribs, I often watch an hour of tv leaning over my gym ball.
Don't worry, soon baby will drop and you will get a bit if relief.

Swimming helped me so much. It seemed to stretch out the area and give me some relief.

Do you have one of those maternity support belt/band things? Wear it (tightly) around your ribs instead of under your belly. It was a lifesaver for me.

Also - go braless whenever you can and alternate heat and ice in the evenings.

Give me hope. Almost 35 weeks and the last 2-3 weeks I have so much rib pain, I'm almost in tears. It wasn't so bad when I was pregnant with J but this time I feel like my ribs are going to break. I get weekly massages, chiropractic adjustments, sleep with a body pillow, do stretches and crazy things to get him to move... :crying:

Did anyone do anything that actually helped?
