I voted less than a week. I think it was about 4 days before my labor started, and it happened every morning. For me it happened early in the morning when I woke up but would stop after a couple of hours. Definitely different than BH contractions. The first day it happened, I thought it was the real deal! DH even stayed home from work because it was exactly how my labor with my first started. Hope your labor starts soon for you!

I think it was about two weeks for me. It wasn't every day but maybe every other or every third day I would have uncomfortable and time-able contractions. Like Lemondrop, she came on a day I didn't even have braxton hicks, my husband had something that day and insisted she was coming that day so he kept checking in and I told him I was fine and she wasn't coming any time soon- labor started an hour after he got home!

I actually was on bedrest for preterm labor. At 36 weeks, I stopped taking Procardia and went back to work. I was in the same boat as you - couldn't be induced because I wanted a VBAC. I delivered my baby two days before my due date, but only because my water broke and at that point they gave me a whiff of Pitocin to get things moving along. I was 2-3 cm and about 80% effaced. Before that, I was having a lot of contractions and was even able to start timing them occasionally because they were persistent. I spent a lot of time at the chiropractor and also checking out this info on the Spinning Babies website (http://spinningbabies.com/more-info/in-labor/362-starter-broken-when-early-labor-lingers-or-starts-and-stops). I really wanted to avoid another c-section but started to wonder if I was crazy because I was so tired from being up at night with contractions. It was a really, really stressful time for me (so many questions from people about why I was still pregnant, anxiety about not getting my VBAC, and when I would finally go into labor so we could make arrangements for my mom to watch our son while we were at the hospital). Hang in there, I hope that your labor starts soon!

3 weeks on and off. I was ready to murder anyone who asked if I was in labor yet by my due date. Funny thing is, he came on a day where I had no labor pains and just felt crappy- my due date.

If I remember correctly, it happened 2 nights in a row, and the 2nd night was when my water broke.

I voted 3 days or less. I had contractions off and on for 2 days before I went into the hospital to get checked. I was 3cm and 90%, so they admitted me. I had a successful VBAC but used Pitocin to help me dilate. Sending positive vibes your way!!!! :goodluck:

I'm 38 weeks, and I've been having sporadic "episodes" of what I think are contractions. They always stop eventually, usually after 2-3 hours. Sometimes it feels like the textbook contraction is described where it wraps around and encompasses my back and all of my uterus. Other times I feel like I'm having menstrual camps with a back/hip ache that comes and goes in waves. They do not feel like any BHs I've had with either pregnancy. The times are all over the place, so the most I've hoped for was that it was early labor. It keeps happening late in the evening or middle of night. It's just uncomfortable enough that I can't sleep, plus I spend the whole time trying to monitor and figure out if this is actually going somewhere. This has been going on for about 4 nights and I'm starting to feel exhausted by the additional lack of sleep & wandering what other people have experienced. I also really need some encouragement that this is a good indication labor will start eventually. I'm trying for a VBAC, and they won't induce so I have to go I to labor within the next 3 weeks to avoid a RCS.

If you had little rounds of contractions, how long did that go on before you went in to labor?
