I gorged on Oreo Cakesters in the recovery room. So...no, I didn't follow the diet or check my blood sugar after I delivered. I just did another glucose test at 5 months pp (was supposed to be 6 weeks but I procrastinated) and everything was normal. Whew.

@autumnlove: everything went back to normal for me as soon as I had DS. Even the OB that delivered him told me that it should be gone, once the placenta is gone. That's the culprit that causes GD.

I was told I didn't have to keep checking my blood sugar. I didn't keep up with the diet...it was hard enough to find the time to eat anything at all, let alone eat at scheduled intervals! I did eat more fruit and veggies though. I had my blood sugar retested at 4 months and it was back to normal.

How long did you follow the diet after you gave birth? Did you continue to test your blood sugar?

I think I'm supposed to stick with it until I get a blood panel at my 6 week PP appointment. I will have to double check at my next OB appointment!
