From "I think I'm in labor," to "GET IN THE CAR," was about 3 hours. And I was at 9 when we got to the hospital. I've been thinking about you and baby girl!)</p> <p>Our doula is an apprentice and this is the 2nd of her 3rd apprentice births. We feel really comfortable with her, but part of me feels like I would really like that alone time with DH before heading to the hospital. I don't want to offend her, but I know that this is about us, not her, and we have to do what feels right at the time. We love our doula, but we just aren't exactly sure what labor will look like for me and how we will emotionally deal with it as a couple. We've been talking with our doula and will definitely let her know any early indicators of labor (I am due tomorrow!), but we don't know when we will want her to come--right away? When it is becoming difficult to stay focused? Not until we head to birthing center (4-1-1 in our practice)? </p> <p>What was your experience, and would you change it? Thanks for any input! </p>
