We see 80% kids in my practice. We even take them over to the OR to be sedated if they're too little to cooperate or just have super high anxiety. I've given some thought to going back to school several times over the past year, but with a kid and family to help support (and a well paying, stable career I really enjoy) I'm sure I'll never pull the trigger and do it. Pediatric surgeons are general surgeons with extra training. (Surgeons who operate on babies are never pediatricians unless they switched careers.)
