@mommygrace: I think it was around a 7 or 8. A 6 sounds pretty good and hopefully you'll go into labor on your own soon

I did castor oil gently. A tablespoon or two shaken in 4 oz orange juice every 2 or 3 hours until labor started. I think I did 6pm, 8pm, and 10pm then went to bed. I did have to go to the bathroom a few times, but nothing too unpleasant. Woke up at 2 having timeable contractions. Baby was born 8 hours later. Picture perfect labor and delivery this time.

@mommygrace: my best friend did hypnobirthing, had a doula and wanted the most natural birth possible. her mdwife gave her a recipe for a castor oil cocktail when she was 42w1d and it sent her into labor almost immediately.
Due to baby's size, position and her narrow pelvis, she was unable to have a natural birth but she did go into labor without an induction.

I was induced at 40+6. Cytotec overnight, water broke on its own, then pitocin. Didn't work. I never dilated past a three. C-section 20 hours after cytotec was first placed. I labored drug free for most of the day and only got the epidural about an hour before the c-section. I was so happy to get it, though.

I was induced at 37 weeks because of low fluid. baby hadn't dropped at all, so it was 36 hours of cervidil, pit, foley bulb, and then finally after 12 hours of pit an epidural, which meant i had a lovely nap while i finished dilating ;) my water never broke or got broken--lo was born en caul.

Mine was a VBAC and I wasn't allowed to go past 41 weeks. I didn't take castor oil because I had hyperemesis and no. Just no, lol.

I had a manual induction because of the VBAC, so foley bulb and then when I was sufficiently dialated, they broke my water. I had a slow drip pitocin for augmentation when my labour stalled at 5 cm.

I was induced both times. First for being overdue (history of miscarriage) and the second time for hypertension. Being induced meant I wasn't keen on a natural childbirth (and I was very much a "let's wait and see" person regarding it anyways, but it was on my radar-I had definitely planned on an epidural with induction).....my first was cytotech and pitocin and my second was more urgent-pitocin and they broke my water because the baby's heart rate was struggling.

I was induced at 37 weeks because DS quit growing over a month ago. I was given the pitocin drip. However, my labor was super smooth and comfortable (once we got past the heart decels in the beginning)

I was induced at 40+3 with Pitocin. They said I was "ready", already dilated and effaced. Labored for 17 hours, they broke my water at some point during the day, there was meconium in the water. After 17 hours, doc declared "failure to progress" and I ended up with a C-section. Hope you go into labor on your own this weekend!!

I had to be induced at 37 weeks due the pre-e (so no options given). They tried Cytotec, foley bulb, Pit and manually broke my waters but nothing was causing any progress so I ended up with a C-section over 36 hours later.

I was induced at 41+6 and I was incredibly happy with the way things turned out - I did 1 dose of Cytotec, and then after a few hours we decided to try breaking my water since baby was so low and he was born hour and a half later. I think the induction went so well because I had a good Bishop score (which considers factors like dilation and effacement to decide how favorable an induction is).

I was too scared to try castor oil or pumping to try and induce labor, but I have heard them to work in other's cases.

I was induced with my second at 13 days late and it was fabulous! I really mean that. I got the lowest level of Pit and it kicked me into a slow labor. After 2 hours of pretty easy going contractions and labor things kicked into high gear and she was born less than 4 hours from the time the induction started. I definitely could have done it naturally but I had them place an epi at 10cm and then pushed -- but I'm a big baby! ;)

I hope you into labor naturally this weekend so that you don't have to worry about it. But seriously, if you do decide to go the induction route it's not always horrible!

I tried castor pil.and nothing happened. I didn't need Cervadil because I was already dialated so just a pitocin drip. My water broke on its own 3 hours later and within an hour that baby was out! No interventions other than the pitocin. I was 40+1.

@mommygrace: I was induced twice. First time with Cervidil which was enough to start labor and break my water. Eventually I got an dpi and pit though but good vaginal birth for an LGA baby.

Second time I did castor oil and then straight to pit. They broke my water because pit wasn't doing anything and that kicked it into gear. Had my Epi and then the baby.

I was almost a week late with induction date. We tried having sex and my water broke a couple of hours later. Could have been a coincidence I'll never know. My doctor still put me on pitocen though and ultimately I had a c section. Not what u wanted to hear I'm sure but my story won't be your story!

I also was planning a natural birth but my water broke and I had an infection by the 24hr mark. We tried blue cohosh and castor oil which got things moving along but not fast enough. My induction ended up being really fast, no epi. You can read more about it here:

http://boards.weddingbee.com/topic/baby-rugbees-shitty-birth-story-no-epi-success/

Also, is lateness the only reason they're inducing you? It might be worth your time to read this article: http://evidencebasedbirth.com/evidence-on-inducing-labor-for-going-past-your-due-date/

Hey ladies! If you were planning to have a natural childbirth but had to be induced after 2 weeks, what was your plan? Did you first try castor oil as a last resort? Did you choose cervadil? Slow drip pitocin? Break water? I'm almost 1 week past EDD so not freaking out yet but doc wants to talk a plan on Monday. Anything would be super helpful!! I had a natural birth with my first born who was 2 days early. Thanks!
