@MrsKoala: Oh my goodness, I totally forgot about Kendi Everyday's series - that's a great demonstration of a capsule wardrobe. I think showing the women her pictures might be inspirational when it comes to paring down a wardrobe but really giving it life, too. Thanks for that thought - I never would have remembered her blog. :)

I'd talk about pairing items and how to make different pieces work with others in terms of colors. I'd also talk about the pieces that every woman should have in her closet: pencil skirt, etc.. similar to what Lulu Mom suggested. Items that are classics and then adding trendier pieces. I like what the blogger Kendi Everyday used to do with remixing her clothes in her 30x30 series (30 items for 30 days).

@LuLu Mom: Oooh that's a good idea - how to transition the same basics from season to season. I wouldn't have thought to make it seasonal. Thanks!

Hmmmm I would probably talk about how to start with a basic worobe and build off of there with accessories to give it life/variety without having to replace season by season.

Black dress
Good blazer
Nice coat
Basic nice shirts
pants - well fitting jeans/slacks

and then talk about adding in the cheaper accessories (statement neckalces, scarves, belts, ect.) to make it more individual.

...clothes what would you cover? It's for a group of woman ages 13 and up to about 70. My Mom roped my sister and I into doing this next month and I have no idea which direction to go. This is what my Mom said in her text: "I told (women's ministry committee chair) you both were planning to present ways to wear basic clothes several different ways (and just as a part of your presentation, tell about the idea of a capsule wardrobe in case that appeals to some). Maybe one of you talk, and one demonstrate? Take turns? We don't care! Tell 'em all about using accessories, tucking in and not, vests, belts, etc., etc. You guys are creative! (It's March 21, by the way)"

Bahahaha. I'm hardly a fashion plate so struggling how to know where to even go with this - it's a very open ended topic it seems like! I'd like to make the "talk" more of a demonstration that incorporates the ladies there and is actually interesting but not sure how!

Any ideas?? :silly: I can't believe I agreed to do this but we owe our Mom one!
