After LO2, I got rid of some items I knew we would never use again no matter what. I have 2 boys with a third boy on the way. We have lots of clothing between what I bought and what was handed down from my neighbor and my nephew. I saved them for my BFF and for our future LO's. I just got back our clothes from DS from my BFF. We're having a girl this time and in different seasons, but pjs, onesies, etc still work! One of my coworkers had a boy 5 months after DS was born and I gave her a ton of stuff. We also made two international moves before having our second, so we didn't want to be weighed down. Our second was a girl, so we would have needed lots of new things anyway. When I found out I was pregnant with my second boy, I was happy to have all the clothes saved so I could reuse them. I still bought a few new outfits, but I reused as much as I could (some things weren't season appropriate). As my second outgrows his clothes, I'm keeping the items that are still in good condition and donating things that look more worn.
