DD and DS are 21 months apart, and I think it's perfect! DD was potty trained early (at 18 months), so that made it a little easier. It was hard for the first 8-10 weeks, but got so much better after that, and I love how close the kids are. DD is now 2.5 and DS is 8 months, and they are great playmates and friends. If we have a third, I think we'll shoot for a similar age gap (20-24 months apart) because it's worked out so well for us!

5 years. The first little guy is my bonus son. I think the age gap was perfect for me. I couldn't imagine chasing after 2 kids, I would be going mad. The oldest one is really independent and such a good helper.

@NYCaliMama: it's the same age gap for my BIL/SIL's kids, too. I got my BFP on DD1's 2nd bday. I'll never forget that! Yes, they get so much easier as they approach the 2 year mark so I'm sure a lot of people feel the same way and start TTC. I know we did. :)

@Andrea: I think it's interesting that "2 years, 9 months" is a common age gap... I know a bunch of families who have the exact same gap because it was their plan to TTC #2 right around the first child's 2nd birthday. one family I know did that same gap twice for their 3 kids.

I do agree it was nice to have just the one child for a solid 2 years before adding another to the mix... I couldn't have done it any sooner... I'm in awe of those that do though!

3 years and 5 months. I think it was the perfect gap for us. totally agree with @T-Mom and @Cyndistar3 on the reasons why. Also, I didn't worry about the gap too much. I just waited to TTC when we felt ready for another.

DDs are 1 yo and 4 yo right now and I love how they play together... they fight sometimes of course, but it's a joy seeing how they interact in general. The little one adores and loves to copy her big sis and the older one is very caring and protective in return. It is also good to see them still "parallel play" at times and do their own thing.

Ours kids are 23 months apart. I was very nervous that they'd be too close in age. It was definitely a lot of work initially because it was like having two babies in the house. But DS was very good with his younger sister. He was never that jealous of her and now they're 3 and 1 and play together pretty well.

They will be 2 yrs 9 months apart. I hope this will be a good gap. DD is out of diapers and I anticipate that she will be really helpful bc that is her personality. I also feel like I had time to enjoy life with just one for a good amount of time. Now DD seems like much more of a big girl so I don't feel bad (yet) bringing a baby into the mix. She is also very excited about baby sis.

Our gap is three years. Same gap as my brother and me. It was nice having DD out of diapers and more independent by the time DS arrived.. I like that they will be close enough to attend some school together but far enough where I don't have to pay too much college tuition at once. If I had another though, I would do a smaller gap between #2 and #3.
