With two convertible and one infant, would have been too tight. Yeah, I would hate to parallel park with the suburban. Luckily, I haven't had to often and usually, I can just pull in somewhere with lots of space. It comes with rear camera so that helps a lot. It's obviously much easier driving the highlander. The suburban is a beast! The trunk is adequate, but I wish it was a bit more roomier. I have 3 kids and we put all three in the second row, otherwise the trunk is way too small. I went with the Highlander because it drives like a car and has about the same interior space compared to the other cars we were looking at (Infiniti QX 80, Acadia, Yukon and Audi Q7). We are probably going to get a bigger car soon as we will likely have a 4th and our almost 4 year old is already into hockey and I am DREADING it. .I should probably get a mini van as we have no need for towing capacity, but we are probably going to get a suburban or escalade (both of which I hated driving compared to the Highlander!). We also have an audi allroad which is the perfect 2nd car! I refused to buy a new car when we found out we were having twins unless the car seats would literally not fit. However, when they get a little older I'm hoping the Pilot has better gas mileage. I like the MDX better but the Pilot is so much roomier. The second row has only two seats. So we can squeeze in and out nicely for the third row. The infant car seat is behind the driver seat. We can comfortably fit 7 people. We do love the trunk space. Love it. But definitely a bulky car. Would hate driving it into the city. We also test drove the Yukon xl. They didn't have lots in stock, so we went with the suburban. It's basically exactly the same? I told my hubby not worth paying extra for escalade, especially since I want to downgrade when they are older to a smaller vehicle. Our Caravan was $10-$15k less than a similar trim level SUV, waaaayyy better gas mileage and it's designed for moms. Built in DVD player saved us on our road trip this summer, and from my spot in the drivers seat I have easy access to 7(!) cup holders. Not to mention no more kids knocking doors open and dinging other cars. Minivan power! I like that the second row center seat is removable so you can access the third row from it - like a minivan. It might be a little snug with you in the back though. I never rode in the back with the kids, I just rode in the front. I have ridden in the back with them when we had 3 adults, &amp; I fit, I just wouldn't want to do that all the time. I think you might have a hard time finding any car that would fit like that, though. </p>
