I pay her $14/hour and it normally takes her 3 hours to clean our 1200 sq ft main floor and loft. She cleans the 2 bathrooms (sinks, counters, toilet, floor, tub) wipes down the outside of the appliances and counter tops (provided I have cleared them) and sweeps/mops the floors. She dusts some but I'd like her to do more. She works 9-5 and does everything. She cleans, does dishes, laundry, irons, takes the trash out, and sometimes watches LO. She also comes at night if we ask her to babysit when DH and I have plans. BUT we live in Beijing, so housekeepers are relatively inexpensive to hire. He took a job recently and now doesn't have time or desire to do such things on Saturdays...There's no way I will do them! I am so happy I did and would give up eating meals each month in order to keep her if I had to. She comes every other week and cleans everything inside the house except the inside of the appliances. She arrives somewhere btween 8;30 and 9 am and is gone before 5 pm. I have her use all of my own cleaning supplies and equipment. (She gave me a list of what she needed.)
