The town we live in now is too small for one, but we have a huge yard that borders a horse pasture so they run around there. It's a huge (25 acres) fenced in open space with a creek, hills, restrooms, and a "small dog" area. We go to our local dog park everyday! Our lab needs tons of exercise, and walks just don't cut it!
