One funny thing that I am learning... ALL kids are different. My daughter was a solid baby, and Huggies diapers fit her best - she was out of newborn size by the time w eleft the hospital. My son is much leaner and he really only fits into Pampers newborn diapers - and he's 3 weeks old now. My daughter LOVED her pacifier and would take anything BUT a Soothies pacifier. My son will rarely take a pacifier and if he does, it's only a Soothies brand. He's also quite particular about bottles, whereas my daughter would honestly take any bottle that had milk in it :-)

I'm amazed at the differences between my two kids! So while all that good feeding/sleeping stuff does come right back... what worked for your first LO may not work for your second :-)

I delivered my second child earlier this month, and my first child is 4.5 years old :-) I guess this is considered a "large age gap".

It all comes right back... and whatever doesn't, your pediatrician will help you out with. I feed on demand and try to adhere to a sleep "schedule" (LOL I use that term very loosely) that gets my newborn to sleep after being awake for 2 hrs, max. I get a variety of emails (Baby Center, etc) that tell me what I should be expecting from my newborn, so if I've ever questioning something, there's ually an answer/idea in my inbox :-) But for the most part.... it all comes back and I am MUCH more relaxed this time around. It's been an amazing transition from one to two kids, and I love the age gap we have.

I feel the same way!! My LO will almost be 4 by the time baby gets here so perhaps it's like riding a bike?

I'm kind of in your boat but lo2 isn't here yet. They'll be three years apart and I honestly don't think of it as a "large" gap. I think it'll come back to us. :)

did you feel sort of lost again when #2 came? Or is it like riding a bike?

While I def think I'll be much more laid back, I feel like I've forgotten much of everything about newborn care, i.e. breastfeeding, sleeping schedules, etc. DS is 29 months and it's been so long since I've paid attention to feeding/sleeping schedules! And I'm hoping to have another smooth BFing journey, but fear that it may not be as easy this time around too!
