I have what @brownepiano: has, and have not needed a separate food chopper. I've made margaritas and pureed baby food with my ninja. It is compact, so it doesnt take up much space.

I have this one and no other blender or food processor. I've tried ice in it and it seems to struggle even though it is supposed to work. For everything else it is great. It doesn't blend raw vegetables into a true puree, they are usually still a little chunky. DS is the only one who really eats smoothies though. I did just get a shredder attachment for my mixer but this has been my go-to for everything for almost 4 years. I've never had a problem except for the ice thing.

I don't have a ninja but I have a blender (vitamix) and 2 separate food processors. It depends on what you cook. I use a small processor a lot for things I don't want to chop like onions, jalapenos, bacon, nuts, hummus. I use it to do things like oat flour. I use my large food processor mostly for veggie burgers (I don't want that stuff super smooth but usually chunky). I use the blender for smoothies and salsa. Haven't tried any soups yet. But I do use a stick blender for some sauces because you don't have to change containers

they definitely do not do the same types of jobs but whether or not you need the food processor depends on what you cook. I need both so I would get it.

I used to have a food processor but it died. So I just started using my ninja instead. It doesn't chop, everything comes out the texture of a smoothie. This works perfectly for my purposes. I mainly use it to hide veggies in dishes or if I need to add onions to something. I like the flavor of onions, but hate biting in to one.

So it depends and what exactly you're looking to do with it.

do you have a food processor as well? If you don't, do you wished that you did?

Our blender doesn't have much life left in it and we're thinking of investing in a Ninja. DH thinks we should get the set with the food processor. I just don't think we'll use / need it. We have a food processor attachment for our blender right now and we never use it.
