My last NF had a house fire so I can definitely emphasize. If you can offer them a place to stay while they figure out their housing arrangement set up I think that would be really helpful. Water was super important because our water was not drinkable. Ready made food. </p> <p>Eta: depending on how bad the flooding was, she will need help getting the flood water out and cleaning out anything that was damaged. A walmart gift card would be great, because she can get pretty much anything there. </p> <p>Sounds like she's had a rough week. We had terrible storms here last night and our day care teacher's sister was terribly affected. Her apartment was flooded to the ceiling. She had renter's insurance but it doesn't cover flooding! They just lost their grandmother this week (it was their mom's mom and they lost their mom when they were young so it was very hard). I can't imagine everything she's going through. Two other moms from daycare and I are going to pull together a bunch of clothes for her (luckily she's similarly sized to us) and then get her a big gift card to Wal Mart. What else can we do that will help right away? </p>
