I would. I don't have a second yet but I would not hesitate to split them up. We do it for our puppies all the time. But the best fit for my older child may not be the best for the younger. Now, if there were separation issues I wouldn't. My friend's dogs don't separate well so they are always together.

My parents did this when my sister and I were little (we're a little less than 3 years apart)- it was a pretty common summer occurrence throughout our childhood, she'd go to one set of grandparents and I'd go to the other. We certainly never minded- it was nice to be the only one getting all the attention :)
My second isn't here yet, but I'd do it. Two kids is a lot to handle, especially when they're little, I think!

I'd separate them! Just easier for everyone. When they get older I think it'll be easier to watch both at once.

I think it could be nice for them each to be a little spoilt with alone time. My dd wouldn't mind being on her own at all. Big brother DS would be devastated though!

I think it just depends on the kids. Might be nice for them to get some separate one on one attention.

I think they would be OK at a young age, but maybe not when they are older as @mrbee said. Do it now!! :-)

I don't fit the criteria, exactly, but yeah, I would. My mom did it...my brother would go to one gramma's and I would go to the other's. Or, aunts and uncles houses or whatever. It would be fun to have my sitter be doting on me all weekend without my brother around.

Would you ever leave them with different sitters for a weekend trip away?

My MIL doesn't want to watch both kids and I feel bad leaving 2 LOs with my SIL who has a baby.
