It seems like most of you use blotting papers! I have used them from time to time but they never seem to really soak it up. I should really try out a few different brands.

@mrsjyw: I might give some mattifying products a go! What mattifying lotion do you use?

@yoursilverlining: That is really interesting but it makes sense. I think part of why my face gets so oily is because it is dried out from washing, but I've never found a moisturizer I like. I might give that a go - thanks for the suggestion!

I use Dr. Hauschka brand skincare, which is a German brand (they sometimes have them at Whole Foods though). I used to have super, super oily skin but use their “normalizing day oil” in place of a moisturizer and my skin is much less oily now. It sounds a bit weird at first to use oil on oily skin, but it worked to basically tell my skin to stop producing so much oil. Sometimes I reapply powder in the afternoon, but usually I don’t need to. If you try it – you only need to use a tiny bit of the oil (like the size of a flat pea), rub onto your fingers and press over your entire face.

Like @Andrea, I too blot which helps, but I have yet to find something that helps via lotio or makeup. Love to hear other's suggestions/recommendations!

I use Benefits Mattifying pore filler/face primer and a mattifying lotion before makeup... usually keeps the oily face at bay.

Otherwise, I end up just wiping away the makeup and blotting with kleenex by day's end.

I used to use these neutrogena blue oil absorbing sheets. They didn't have any powder on them and would clear my face of excess oil.

I use blotting papers as well since powder looks cakey on me. I also found that the only face wash that really works for my skin to keep it an even tone is Mary Kay Time wise. I was a little hesitate to try it, but will never go back, that and the moisturizer work perfect on my skin and i don't feel as oily anymore!

Oil control products don't seem to work so I just use blotting papers instead of power so there is no build up.

I'm wearing a full face of makeup today because we had an event at work, and the grease is breaking through disgustingly. I've touched up with powder but I don't want to cake it on and make it look worse. My face is ALWAYS oily by 5pm. If I use a face wash for oily skin, though, I get dry and tight and then my skin gets even more oily to compensate. What do you do??
