His mom is completely out of their life I think which is for the best. But I can see how that past marriage has left a bitter taste in her husband's mouth. He sometimes treats her with disdain expecting her to be just like his ex-wife. Which was a lie. She primarily communicates with Mr. D by email -- actually, that is the only way they have communicated since I have known him -- and it's cordial but terse. She basically only gives my DH the info he's owed by law when she wants money. Things got worse for us when she remarried. Her SO won't speak to us (started day one of us meeting him) but has done some pretty nasty things to undermine my DH's relationship with his kids. She's awful. I just posted the other day about how she has taken over Dh's family, all she does is badmouth us. I have a "book" of emails/texts that are court ready whenever she wants to go back. </p> <p>Dh said she was cordial and nice before I came along, I think she's pissed that ruined their relationship by cheating and can't get him back.
