We have a front-to-back bedroom (very long and awkward) so we pushed our bed to the middle of the room and basically made the far end of our room into the nursery. If we were willing to have a window-less master bedroom we could have put up a wall to separate us from the nursery (the only window in our master bedroom is on that back wall). We had a glider/ottoman, the crib, and a dresser/changing table. (the only changing surface in our bedroom is our bed!) Before we put the crib in there we had a pack n play with bassinet attachment.

We could have done without the glider/ottoman, but the dresser/changing table was great for her clothes and of course changing her diaper. It was annoying not to have a closet for her though, for the little dresses that I didn't want to fold up and put in the drawers.

@glimmersnaps: Do most cribs come like that, so you can take the one side off and push it up to your bed like you have it? I like that idea! Is it hard for you to get in and out of bed like that? Your corner looks so much like ours would if I pushed a crib in there, I never though of the one side being removed thing.

Also I really like your bedding and the matching art above it.

@MamaMoose: for the first month I just changed ds on our bed or in the pack and play because it was so much easier... So I don't think a changing table/pad is a must.

We kept the crib in the living room (for daytime naps) and LO slept in our room at night. We put the changing pad on our dresser (so I had to sacrifice the mirror that was there) but it was just a few months and otherwise our bedroom did not look baby-like. When LO moved out to his own room we put some decorations up but it took a long time to transition.

We are doing a PNP or crib in our bedroom. I go back and forth between making a nursery corner. I get jealous of all the nursery stuff I hear about, but I also want to keep our bedroom grown up.

I think I shared this photo on another thread so sorry if I repeat myself.

I have the crib right up next to the bed and I sleep next to DS because I nurse at night. I have a mobile and some baby-themed frames on the wall to sort of make it look a little more like his space. There is an old (I'm talking about 15 years old) Ikea table that was his changing table when he was smaller. Underneath is a plastic 3-drawer storage unit for diapers/some clothes/socks/hats/blankets. I think it's from Target. I've also had it forever. I wish I would have gotten a glider/rocker, but really we have no space. DS's clothes hang in a small closet with DH's and mine. It's really low-key. But honestly it's all you really need. Everything else is just icing.

ETA: That's DS monkeying around on the bed. :)

@WALLAROO: thanks for the link. pretty helpful.

i noticed at least one crib that had a changing bed set up on top of it. maybe we'll look into that. we actually have no furniture in the bedroom right now, other than our bed, night stands and the chaise. we keep our dressers hidden inside our closet.

I hope someone comes up with pictures, but I think about this a lot too. I'd like to not have to move out of our one bedroom right away-- though I realize it won't be in the too distant future.
I agree with @MamaMoose: that you will want a higher changing surface though. My plan currently is to have a crib and a dresser/changing table. The rest can wait but I figure those two are necessary. And actually, probably the baby won't even sleep in the crib for a few weeks anyway (we'll get a rock and play).

We don't have this set up but the one suggestion I would make is to consider finding some other option for a changing station (possibly a changer on top of your dresser?). I think it would be murder on your back to always be changing diapers on a chaise lounge.

Our crib won't be in our bedroom, but it will be in a little corner of the living room that's just a few feet from our room. I just wanted to say it's nice to know that I'm not the only one who won't have a fully decked out baby room before LO gets here! I think a crib is the only thing we'll buy early as well.

I dont have photos but we do have our crib in our room. Basically we have set up the room in such a way that one side of it is a nursery, and has her name on the wall and her crib, changing table and dresser are all on that side

i think our plan is to set up a crib in our room, so that we can keep the guest room available for any in-laws willing to stay over and help out.

i don't think we'll add any other baby furniture though. we have a chaise in there that can be used as a changing surface, as well as extra seating. i haven't figured out extra storage for baby clothes and diapers yet though. oh, and the crib will be just opposite the foot of our bed, so it'll be equally convenient for either of us to get to it during the night. any general suggestions on this set up?

do you keep the crib in your bedroom? does your room look like a nursery now? or is it pretty much the same? photos welcome!
