I left an extra bottle with daycare with instructions to feed him when he wakes up. I don't always have time to wait around for him to wake up, nurse, change him, etc.

DH leaves the house at 5:40am. He makes the bottle bag for the day (the night before) and sets it in T's carseat for me. If our roles were reversed, I would expect to nurse the baby (if he was awake) and....that's it. Otherwise, pump. I don't think there's a lot you can prepare for unless the baby is actually awake that early! Which, probably not.

@mrswin: oooh good idea! yeah that's what I've been wondering too - she doesn't wake up at exactly the same time each day.

@buttermilk: I leave the house at 5:30. My DD gets up between 4 and 5 for a feeding the goes back to sleep until 7 when she gets up for the day.

It was tough to figure out my morning routine originally because I can't count on her to wake up at the same time each morning. What I do is set my alarm for 4:15am and start getting ready. Once she wakes up I feed her and then finish getting ready. I shower the night before so in the morning just put on some make up and get dressed, pack my lunch and pump bag. Her morning nursing session can be 20 to 30 minutes so I give myself extra time. Get as much as you can ready the night before. :goodluck:

I used to just run out the door before DS woke up, and pump :bummed: He wanted to eat just when I had to be leaving, and then there was the crying when I had to go. But it sounds like your morning feeding is early enough that you can feed her and put her back in bed.

I nurse the baby whenever she wakes up (usually between 5 and 6). Once she goes back to sleep I get ready and get all of her things ready for daycare and leave for work. About an hour later, baby and hubs are up for the day and he gets her dressed and takes her to daycare on his way to work.

I usually leave the house around 6:00 a.m. too, so I nurse Logan around 5:00 a.m. and then just put him back to bed. When he was little, he'd usually wake on his own around that time (or earlier) to eat, but now at 10 months, I wake him to feed him. Then Hubs gets him up for the day around 7:00 and brings him to daycare.

I'm starting work again in 3 weeks and I usually leave my house at 6am to arrive by 6:15. I'm a pastry chef so early hours! LO will be 12 weeks and maybe it's just my mommy brain but I don't know what to expect our morning routine to be. Do you have a similar schedule and how do you handle it?

Babysitter lives close by so DH will do that around 9 or 10 am most likely. I guess I'm wondering how it will affect our feedings. Right now DD sleeps about around 9pm-7am, with one feed sometime between 3-5am. Maybe we will both wake at 5am and I'll nurse her, DH will make coffee/breakfast and then I'll put her back down and get ready and leave, and then DH can do some work while she sleeps until 7am then get her up for the day, babysitter drop off etc...

I know there are lots of options here, I'm just curious what your morning routine is so I can try to get us on one too! :)
